Four British dramas from the 1970s. In 'Quest for Love' (1971) Joan Collins stars as a woman who becomes the object of a scientist's desire in two different realities. Scientist Colin Trafford (Tom Bell) is caught up in an experiment that goes wrong and is transported to an alternative reality in which World War II and the Moon landings never happened. In this new reality he is an author rather than a scientist and is married to the beautiful Ottilie (Collins), who despises him. Colin strives to win Ottilie's affection and is on the verge of succeeding when he is returned to the ordinary world. Colin then embarks on a desperate quest to be reunited with his love. In 'That's Your Funeral' (1972), starring Bill Fraser and Raymond Huntley, undertakers Basil Bulstrode (Fraser) and Emmanuel Holroyd (Huntley) are overjoyed when they are called upon to bury their chief rival. However, when new businessmen move in and use the funeral parlour as a front to smuggle drugs a new war for custom ensues between the two businesses. In 'Don't Just Lie There, Say Something' (1973) Leslie Phillips stars as Sir William Mainwaring-Brown, a government minister with a roving eye who has just introduced a bill to combat libertarian behaviour in Britain. Despite this, Sir William is having affairs with both his secretary Miss Parkyn (Joanna Lumley) and Wendy (Anita Graham), the wife of an eminent reporter. Prominent libertarian protestors do their best to derail William's campaign by discrediting him and his best friend Barry Ovis (Brian Rix). Finally, in 'Nothing But the Night' (1973), starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, a police officer and a psychiatrist must work together to try and get to the bottom of strange happenings on a remote Scottish island. An orphanage on the island comes to the attention of police colonel Charles Bingham (Lee) when three of its trustees are found dead in a short space of time. Though initial evidence suggests that the deaths were suicides, Bingham is suspicious and enlists the help of Sir Mark Ashley (Cushing) to try and get to the bottom of the mystery.
