Feature-length anime based on the light novel series by Kana Akatsuki. Many years ago, a scientist employed people called Auto Memory Dolls to assist his blind wife with her writing. Seen as a useful tool for those who could not read or write, Auto Memory Dolls became common place in society. One particular Doll, Violet Evergarden (voice of Yui Ishikawa), finds herself at a loss after the war where she lost her beloved Major Gilbert (Daisuke Namikawa) and embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
